The button below leads to the link to my "Why I Write" essay for my Gateway course and is a piece included in my first portfolio. This essay makes a lot more sense in context to my first portfolio, as the focus was around mental illness, as well as how psychopathology has been the most complex and intriguing topic I've studied in my undergraduate career. My Gateway portfolio centered around my psychology research about mental illness, yet combined these interests with my passion for creative writing, which is why I think that this piece is an important example of my growth and therefore, is why I included it here.
